Fuel related problems in a marine engine is not a new problem but the addition of Ethanol has changed the problem. It is getting increasing difficult to find gasoline without a 10% ethanol blend and soon, we will have to deal with up to 15% ethanol blended gasoline's. It has become a fact of life. Manufactures have implemented warranty policies to protect themselves from claims that have nothing to do with their product but how fuel reacts to the marine environment. The solution is not the elimination of ethanol blended fuels but to educate us on the proper use and storage of it.
