How to Sail Your Boat Across an Ocean

This year long-distance cruising sailors Paul and Sheryl Shard completed their 8th transatlantic crossing and in this seminar go over what’s involved in equipping your boat for offshore passage-making, preparing yourself and your crew, route planning, weather forecasting and communications plus the option of participating in offshore rallies. If you have ever dreamed of doing some blue water sailing or crossing an ocean, this seminar will give you the information you need to start making that dream a reality! The seminar will include excerpts from the Distant Shores sailing TV series featuring days at sea as well as sailing destinations in the Atlantic Islands. Checklists will be provided to participants of the seminar as valuable tools to help you plan your adventure.

Paul and Sheryl Shard are international cruising sailors, best-selling authors, award-winning documentary filmmakers and the fun-loving hosts of the Distant Shores sailing adventure TV series. This year they celebrate 27 years of cruising and living aboard. They have sailed over 100,000 nautical miles in that time making 7 transatlantic passages documenting their experiences in the Bahamas, Caribbean, Atlantic Islands, Mediterranean, Scandinavia, UK and South America. They are currently having their 4th boat built and are preparing for an upcoming voyage to the islands of the South Pacific. Follow their adventures on
