Pursuing her childhood passion for Tall Ships, Accredited Marine Surveyor® Nicole McLoughlin’s love of the nautical life has taken her all over the world on a variety of vessels. Her travels began as a professional sailor and SCUBA diver, and led to studying at Queen’s University, and graduating from the Chapman School of Seamanship as a Yacht and Small Craft Surveyor.
Eager to expand from her roots as a professional crew member, Nicole established McLoughlin Marine Survey in Kingston, Ontario, Canada in 2005, servicing private and commercial vessels. She went to work as a Staff Surveyor in the British Virgin Islands where she developed an understanding of vessels in a tropical salt water environment, including multi-hulls, charter fleets, MCA coding, tonnage, stability, and marine claims. In 2016 she expanded her scope while contracted as a Loss Prevention consultant in Rhode Island. Today, Nicole is an Accredited Marine Surveyor® and Canadian Regional Director for the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyors, SAMS®. She is also a Certified Marine Investigator with IAMI, the International Association of Marine Investigators. Nicole owns and operates her independent marine consulting firm based in Southern Ontario. McLoughlin Marine Surveying & Consulting Ltd. www.nmmarinesurveying.com
