Accessible Customer Service

Canadian Boat Shows/the Toronto International Boat Show is committed to excellence in serving all customers including people with disabilities.

Assistive Devices

Wheelchair and scooter accessibility varies depending on the location within the show. The facility is wheelchair accessible, however, some exhibitor platforms used to board boats have limited access.

A limited number of wheelchairs and electric scooters are available at the Exhibitor Support Centre located in Galleria Lobby outside of Hall D.

Wheelchair rental charges are $5/hour with a maximum of $30/day. Electric scooters are $10/hour with a maximum of $60/day. Walkers are available at $10.00 flat rate/per day and Canes & Crutches are $5.00 flat rate/per day.

If you know you will be requiring an electric scooter when you visit the show, we recommend you call in advance to reserve (call the Exhibitor Support Centre at (416) 410-6612). A valid driver's licence and credit card must be presented upon pick-up.

Service animals

We welcome people with disabilities and their service animals. Service animals are allowed on the parts of our premises that are open to the public.  Service animals include seeing eye or helper dogs.

Support persons

Complimentary admission is offered for the support person of a person with a disability. Persons with disabilities should visit any box office at one of the show’s four entrances to purchase their admission ticket and receive the complimentary support person’s admission access.  The discounted admission price for persons with disabilities is $7.50.

Communication

Canadian Boat Shows/the Toronto International Boat Show will do our best to communicate with people with disabilities in ways that take into account their disabilities.  To ensure your visit to the Toronto International Boat Show is an enjoyable experience, contact us in advance to let us know how we can assist you.  Should you require assistance please call Linda Waddell, Show Director, 905-951-4051 or email lwaddell@canadianboatshows.com prior to the event’s opening day and we will work with you to meet your accessibility needs. 

Emergency Evacuation Procedures

Person’s requiring assistance in the event of an emergency evacuation should notify the Toronto International Boat show staff at one of the following locations, i) Information Booths (located at Hall A Entrance, Hall B entrance, Heritage Court Entrance or ii) Show Office, Salon 103.

Notice of Temporary Disruption

In the event of a planned or unexpected disruption to services or facilities for customers with disabilities Canadian Boat Shows/the Toronto International Boat Show will notify customers promptly. A clearly posted notice will include information about the reason for the disruption, its anticipated length of time, and a description of alternative facilities or services, if available. The notice will be posted at the point of service or facility disruption.
