Get ready for a great day of women empowering women in so many ways both on & off the water! Stay for a few hours, stay for the day!

Keynote: Melodie Schaffer: Setting Goals, Overcoming Challenges: My Race Around the World in a 40' Boat

We all have dreams and sometimes they get dashed. As a youth and young adult, Melodie had dreams of competing internationally in sailing, but those dreams did not materialize. Scroll forward 30 years and today she is the first Canadian woman to have raced around the world, winner of the 2023 Rolex Sailor of the Year, and the 2024 Woman in Sport from the Universal Women’s network Women of Inspiration. But it wasn’t easy. From biomedical engineer, to stay at home mom for 20 years, to offshore racer, come hear her story of how she seized her lifelong dream, overcoming unimaginable roadblocks to race around the world.
